Responsibilities
  • Assist in research and analysis of railroad safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Support FRA professionals in the evaluation and implementation of safety programs and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of reports, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to railroad safety performance.
  • Collaborate with FRA teams on projects related to rail infrastructure, technology, and policy development.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops to enhance knowledge of railroad safety regulations and industry trends.
  • Provide administrative support to various FRA departments.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a focus on transportation, engineering, safety management, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record and a keen interest in the railroad industry and safety.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and an understanding of the railroad industry is beneficial.
Experience

Previous coursework or experience in transportation, safety management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
