Nassau Community College is offering internship opportunities in the field of Homeland Security for highly motivated students. This internship provides a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and critical area of national security.
Responsibilities
- Assist in research, analysis, and reporting related to homeland security issues.
- Support the development and implementation of emergency preparedness programs.
- Collaborate with team members on projects related to threat assessments and risk analysis.
- Monitor and evaluate security protocols and procedures.
- Participate in training exercises and drills.
- Contribute to the creation of informational materials for public awareness.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience
- Previous coursework or experience in homeland security or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency management concepts is a plus.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
